Dear Parents,
As the new principal, may I take this opportunity to express my gratitude in joining the Lau Wing Sang family.
The Parent-teacher Association (PTA) of our school has been operating for twenty years, playing an important role in connecting the school and the families of every student. The devoted contribution of our PTA members did not go unnoticed, as evident by the multiple recognition and awards received from the Federation of Parent-teacher Association of Hong Kong Eastern District over the years. This serves as a solid proof of the high-standing parent-teacher collaboration of our school as well as the recognition of our position in the community.
According to 1 Peter 5:2, it wrote, 'be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them – not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve.' As Principal, teachers and parents, we all share the viewpoint that the flock refers to our children and we are the shepherds ourselves. We bear the responsibility of guiding our flock to the nourished land and protecting them against predators, as if we lead our children to the correct pathways. In the real world, it is teemed with tempting wrongdoings and crimes, inappropriate information and dismal values. God entrusts the children to us and we are obliged to care for them according to His will. We shall do this willingly and with pure motives, aiming to be a positive influence for them.
Through optimising the parent-teacher collaboration, I believe we can promote the highest-favourable learning environment in the long run. May we work hand in hand together to bring up our children to become individuals that will glorify God!
