20th Anniversary Sculpture

Tree of Life

The second Tree of Life sculpture marks another fruitful decade of our school under the guidance of God. On September 3, 2021, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was successfully held. We were honoured to have Ms. Cheng Wai Man, Chief School Development Officer of the Education Bureau's district, Mr. Chung Cheuk Hin, Senior School Development Officer of the Education Bureau's district, Pastor Wong of the Chinese Mission Convention Chai Wan Church, the Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association, attended the event.

The 10th anniversary sculpture was unfortunately damaged in the midst of typhoons, so we decided to rebuild it for the 20th anniversary. Thanks to the valuable input of our school's Visual Arts Department Head, Mr. Lee Yuk Shan, the sculpture was created with uniqueness and meaningful significance as the design, which features a tree and fruit, symbolises the gradual growth of students at Lau Wing Sang Secondary School and the bearing of fruit. The nine fruits on the tree represent the nine qualities conveyed in Galatians 5:22, including love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

The ceremony was presided over by the school supervisor, Mr Lo Ting Yiu. Before ribbon-cutting, the guests were invited to place a page of the Bible verse on an especially-designed book stand and fastened a screw to the four corners of the page. Ultimately, the event ended successfully with Principal Mui's words of thanks.
