The Biomedical Engineering Creativity Competition will help Hong Kong nurture a young generation to develop innovative technologies and solutions to meet the emerging needs of an ageing population in the future.

Assistive Technology refers to the use of technology or the development of technological devices to assist the physically and mentally challenged to rebuild their lives.

Assistive Technology (AT) refers to the use of technology or the development of technological devices to assist the physically and mentally challenged to rebuild or replace some of their abilities or bodily functions, thereby improving their quality of life. And anything that can any item, equipment or product system that increases, maintains, improves or facilitates a user's personal abilities is known as an "assistive device".

But are the existing aids suitable for the needs of Hong Kong? Do users need high-tech products? The most suitable products are those that can effectively improve the quality of life of the users.
